Video CD 2.0 Toolkit for Windows
pmpro sells a Video CD development package (also makes CD-i presentations) for Windows 3.x or Windows95 computers. The Video CD development package has everything you need to make Video CD/CD-i training, educational, presentation, and testing applications. The Toolkit supports ALL the White Book 2.0 features, including still pictures, PCM and MPEG audio, MPEG moving video, menus, closed captioning, random menu selections and timeout menus.
Authoring Features:
- Drag and drop for easy creation of events, sequences and menus
- Mini-windows for easy access and organization of menus, events, assets, tracks and navigation trees
- Can import as templates, other projects made with this tool
- Automatically converts menu and slide pictures into required MPEG stills
- Recognizes over 12 common PC picture formats, including WMF, BMP, TGA
- Automatically assigns Video CD player track and item selections as you create menu items
- Automatically converts PCM, AIFF and WAV audio files for use as CD-DA tracks
- Automatically creates all necessary files and components required by the White Book 2.0 CD specification
- Automatically creates the disc image file necessary for recording to a CD-R
- Analyzes your menus, sequences and assets for compliance to the VCD spec
- Finished CD's play on CD-i or Video CD players, and soon on Windows 95 computers.
Note: Moving video must be converted to Video CD MPEG-1, BEFORE bringing it to Toolkit. Audio files must be converted to MPEG-audio BEFORE bringing them to Toolkit. VCD 2.0 does not offer a variety of video effects--all transitions are "cuts".

- Windows 3.1 or Windows95 (not tested on Windows NT)
- 486 processor
- 16 MB RAM
- SVGA card and monitor capable of 800 x 600 resolution and 256 colors
- 2 GB of FREE hard drive space
- SCSI CD-R recorder
- CD-i or VCD player to test the Video CD's with
- VCD 2.0 compliant MPEG-1 encoder or MPEG-1 service facility to process video tape content
